There have been suggestions that United will struggle to achieve the same success as last season following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
United received a world record transfer fee of ?0million for the Portuguese forward and Ferguson has not used much of the money to bring in new faces.
The manager maintains that he is happy with his squad and has not lost faith in the players following a surprise defeat to Burnley earlier this season.
"I know we have the right squad and I trust them," Ferguson told United Review before the 2-1 victory over Arsenal on Saturday evening.
Insult
"It is an insult to suggest that I could somehow lose my faith in my players overnight."
Ferguson added: "The bulk of the ?0million fee we got from Real Madrid is still there and seems to be burning a hole in the pockets of a lot of fans.
"But you don't suddenly scrap your transfer policy because of one defeat, even if it was a bad one.
"I have explained our strategy, based on my confidence in our squad with a few new faces and more eager beavers on the way up, and I have no intention of abandoning it."
